Infilled frames are usually considered in the global building response according to simplified
procedures without taking into account the particular aspects resulting from the interaction
between the panel and the frame. Other aspects, such as adequate design of the floor beams
and the beam-columns joints, and control of potential sliding shear failure of the columns,
should be also considered.
Numerical modelling work on the influence of infill masonry panels in the seismic behaviour of RC
ductile frames.
A refined-model will be used for a parametric study of a infilled frame, calibrated with experimental
work.
Moreover, a simplified numerical model will be created and develop to account in-plane
and out-of-plane interactions with development of an API element to be implemented
on the open-source software OpenSees.
