Le Petit Barquenon
Architecture

Project developed with R. Ribeiro.
A floating cabin as a lifestyle, which addresses the crescent nomadic way of living at the same time as planetary change and unmeasured consumption of natural resources. We advocate a form to live with less, while still having an extraordinary and satisfying experience. We should educate ourselves that we donĀ“t need most of the things we own, learn to crave for less stuff and more contact with others and nature; find a lower rythmn, more sources of peacefulness and happiness, which come from within ourselves. We base this prerogative in the example of the greatest modernist architect, Le Corbusier and his Petit Cabanon, or as he called it, his Castle, when finding about how it changed his life to have lived in it. An experimental and research project at first, became the construction with the strongest domestic feeling he designed, the one he could most comfortably call a home.
